Sometimes it matters little whether it’s cold, Molly wants to play outside. Especially since she now fits into what she calls her “yippee-ti-yi-yo jacket.”
Here’s three videos from yesterday: riding, climbing and cooking. Tip: click the little box at the lower right to watch them fullscreen.
Mop. Mop-mop-mop.

Very early this morning, Rojo was fussing at the back fence. I took a look out front and saw a pair of beautiful bushy-tailed foxes making their way down the ditch. Reaching for my camera (usually on my belt), I was reminded I’d plugged it in last night to finally download some pictures and movies for the blog.
So I’d better follow through before I miss more foxes.
Here’s Molly and her new mop.

…We’d gone to the hardware store to pick up some goodies for a kitchen drain project, and Molly had expressed an interest in getting a mop. Okey dokey!
It’s been getting chilly, but it’s never too cold for a tricycle ride.
…Or for a swing on the rope:

…Or to climb at the park.

We did hit the indoor gym place, too. Nothing wrong with mom and dad being just as warm as the climber.
Speaking of inside play, mom and Molly started a cuuuuuute game they call “Tales of Babushka Lushka,” where mom makes up a story about the trials and travails of a girl named Babushka Lushka, played by Molly with a skirt on her head. It’s easily the greatest thing ever.

For a girl who’s been asking about the tree since we took it down last year, Molly’s been pretty patient about waiting for Christmas to hurry up and get here. Mom scored a heck of a deal on a little Christmas display that plays music while the trains and skaters go ’round and ’round. Thanks to a quick (and slightly erroneous) reply from dad to the question “What is that?”, Molly now calls it her Christmas diorama.

She loves it.
It was also an exceptional treat for her to wake up from an epically-long nap to discover — a Christmas tree! In her own living room!!
Molly was good enough to “help” with the lights that evening….

…and the ornaments the next morning!

She adores this “Charlie Brown” tree, by the way. I don’t think we even need to put presents under it. She says goodnight to it like ten times every evening.
I didn’t manage any pictures, but we did actually have Thanksgiving with local grandma; Molly actually ate a fair amount of turkey and a startling amount of mashed potatoes.
And this last picture has nothing to do with the holidays, other than that we found a great Italian place across town for lunch, and Molly ate a whole bunch of pasta and was well-behaved the whole time.

Bonus video: Molly learned this song (and the appurtenant gestures) at school, and is teaching it to us. Alice, with legs like toothpicks and a neck like a giraffe, hops into the tub, pulls out the plug, and “Oh my goodness, oh my soul!” goes down the hole.
